Vintage Glimmers

Under the Big Top ATCs

So these were a lot of fun to make.  I wanted them to look vintage because of the images I had but I also wanted them to be bright like the circus.  I shaped some thin gauge wire into shapes and covered them with layers of tissue paper and gel medium.  When they dried I painted them red and then sprayed them with layers of candy apple Glimmer Mist which made them really shimmery and vibrant.  I liked the contrast of the vivid red against the faded backgrounds.

  

Fabric Cards

I bought some new paints for an online class I'm taking and they are sooooooooo pretty and creamy and luscious!  Some of them are even glittery and irridescent so I'm thinking I need to make some more fabric paper with them.   But that means I really should use up some of the fabric paper I already made over the summer.  I did make some ATCs with them for the Collage-a-thon over at ATCs-for-All but that barely made a dent in my stash.

  

ATC Mania

It's official - I'm hooked on these little trading cards.  Since nearly all of my art supplies are packed away in the basement while we figure out just what it is we want to do about renovating the upstairs I've really got only the basics to work with.  But I'm not minding too much.  I've joined the most wonderful trading site and I'm making tons of ATCs.  Even better, I'm trading tons of ATCs! 

These cards were a trio I made from some old dress patterns.  I collaged the images onto watercolor paper along with pieces of the sewing pattern tissue.  Added some silk flowers with glazed beads in the centers and little phrases.
